Sadly we are now closed again. We’ll see you all at the other end of this, with the vaccine the glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel we hope it wont be too long.
Compassionate Inverclyde are working in partnership with the Broomhill Hub Café on a new Project to offer a Caring Cuppa to anyone who needs it.
The idea is that people can buy a cup of coffee for a stranger, because a small act of kindness can change a life. You never know what another person is truly going through, so even an act of kindness as small as buying a cup of coffee for a stranger could serve to seriously brighten their day, help combat feelings of isolation and let them see that others care.
Suspended coffee, or caffe sospeso, is a tradition that comes from Naples, Italy, and dates to at least the turn of the 20th century. When customers buy coffee, they also pay in advance for a cup to be given to somebody else -- usually someone who otherwise couldn't afford it. Customers can pay £2 to donate a Caring Cuppa at the Cafe. Anyone who wants a receive a Cuppa can pick up a card in the Cafe to use to purchase a Cuppa.
Thanks to all those people who voted for us, we really appreciate your support.
