Compassionate Inverclyde are working in partnership with the Broomhill Hub Café on a new Project to offer a Caring Cuppa to anyone who needs it.
The idea is that people can buy a cup of coffee for a stranger, because a small act of kindness can change a life. You never know what another person is truly going through, so even an act of kindness as small as buying a cup of coffee for a stranger could serve to seriously brighten their day, help combat feelings of isolation and let them see that others care.
Suspended coffee, or caffe sospeso, is a tradition that comes from Naples, Italy, and dates to at least the turn of the 20th century. When customers buy coffee, they also pay in advance for a cup to be given to somebody else -- usually someone who otherwise couldn't afford it. Customers can pay £2 to donate a Caring Cuppa at the Cafe. Anyone who wants a receive a Cuppa can pick up a card in the Cafe to use to purchase a Cuppa.
Congratulations to our Cafe Staff after Greenock Telegraph Readers voted us Best Place in the Area for a Coffee and Catch up!
Thanks to all those people who voted for us, we really appreciate your support.
Gardening club classes.. will be back!
Our gardening club classes have sadly come to an end after 6 weeks for the winter season.
We'd like to thank everyone who came along, we hope you enjoyed yourselves and learned some tips and tricks for the winter.
We received some great feedback from those who attended, so we're pleased to announce that the classes will be back in 2021!
The classes are a fantastic chance to learn a few new skills, meet like minded people and finally be able to maintain your own garden like the professionals!
Stay tuned for further updates!
